Serenity in the Arctic

The 253-metre ship Crystal Serenity left Anchorage, Alaska, in mid-August on its way to become the largest ship ever to navigate the Northwest Passage. It will carry more than 1,000 passengers and 600 crew.

The voyage is sold out, with passengers paying $22K to $120K for the trip.

Commentary

With 1,600 passengers and crew the ship with double Cambridge Bay’s population whilst in port.
